The 2011 Nindigully Pig Races
GIRLS AND GUYS THIS YEARS PIGGIES ARE GOING TO BE BIG THANKS TO BUNDY RUM JUMPING IN A BIG WAY WITH THEIR 6TH EVER OUTING OF THE $2.1 MILLION DISTILLATORIUM
Have you ever seen pigs fly?? well if not you best come to Nindigully Pub Pig Races & Music Muster on Saturday the 26th November 2011 and watch our piggies fly.!!
A 6 race program… gates open 10am….1st race between noon to 1pm…..In between each race & until Late you will be entertained by brilliant country artists such as Adam Kilpatrick …Luella Widt…. Neil Duddy … Dusty Fraser…The Bagman…. Jessica Holland & Jon Brown. Then after the last race we will have a fireworks show. All musicians have their own facebook and websites so please check them out.
All piglets are treated humanely and with respect and do retire early to a great farm life on Noahs Farm… all 6 piggies are auctioned individually every race and winning bidders receive a laminated certificate with their piggies name on it… the winning pig is the first piggie in the milk bowl (they all share the milk at the finish)…its the obstacle course that makes for the laughs… not hard nor too easy but they are in training for this event…. the total prize pool of each race is divided into 50% to R.F.D.S…. with the remaining 50% divided between 1st (65%)..2nd(25%) and 3rd(15%) place winners… no photo finish or video replay… judges decisions are final. The 1st place owner also gets a priceless trophy to take home and display on their mantlepiece… a lot of generous owners have previously donated all or part of their winnings to RFDS… its all in the spirit of the event…
2011 is our 6th year of racing piglets and we hope with your help and attendance to make it bigger and better than ever…. last year we saw over 500 people support us and we hope all return plus more of their friends….in the past years people like you have helped raise nearly $40,000 for the RFDS… that’s a lot of money from a small town like ours with a population of just 9 people (yes 9)…. last years record of $14,500 we hope to blow away this year and raise $20,000 plus and it only happens with your generosity so please get your syndicates together and get dressed up and come and enjoy the weekend with us and the pigs.

This year we are also very happy to annouce that the Bundaberg Distillatorium will be set up over the Weekend of the Pig Races.
AFTER being voted ‘Stand of the Year’ at the Sydney Bar Show, visitors at this year’s Nindigully Pub Pig Races will have the opportunity to see the Bundaberg Distilling Company’s brand new $2.1 million Bundaberg Distillatorium first hand when it stops in at Nindigullly as part of its three year national tour.
The amazing 15 metre by 15 metre travelling distillery experience offers locals the chance to journey through the 123 year history of Bundaberg Rum with an interactive and sensory display. Bundaberg Distilling Company Brand Manager Mark McLeod said the Distillatorium was an experience not to be missed. “The Bundaberg Distillatorium is a fantastic chance for Australians to gain an insight into the heritage and creation of one of the country’s greatest icons and brands and it’s great to be coming to the Nindigully Pig Races. It brings to life the story of the Bundaberg Distilling Company in a new and exciting way and whether you like Bundaberg Rum or not there is something for everyone to learn and enjoy,” he said.
Over a century’s worth of craftsmanship heritage behind Bundaberg Rum can be explored as visitors experience a special 3D view of the Bundaberg cane fields, molasses tasting and a rare look at some very unique and valuable bottles. Visitors over the age of 18 will have the exclusive opportunity to try some of the ‘special’ limited edition rums and traditional favourites in the ‘Tasting Den’.
